Stephen’s musical background started at junior school as a member of the school recorder group, orchestra and choir. Also a member of his father’s choir at St. John’s Church, Spitalgate in Grantham. While at Grammar school Stephen continued in the school orchestra and choir and occasionally played in local orchestra’s and brass bands. It was during this time he learnt to tune and repair pipe organs by helping his father, who repaired them as a hobby. He then went on to assist the late Mr Wilfred Allen (a well know professional organ/piano tuner) and was then trained in the fine art of piano tuning.
